Pastor Carey Forbus

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

     Although he often speaks about his Alabama upbringing, Pastor Carey actually spent most of his growing up years here in the Lynchburg area. It was here that he met and married his high school sweetheart, Jackie. He and Jackie are blessed with 2 children, a son-in-law, and 2 grandchildren 

 

       Carey graduated from Liberty University with a degree in business and worked in management at several Wal-mart stores across the state of Virginia.  Carey and Jackie have always been active in the church and served as youth leaders "on the side" for many years, but after a while felt God leading them into full-time ministry.  Carey served as youth pastor in Portsmouth, VA  and Baltimore, MD before moving back to "God's Country" to serve as senior pastor here at Lighthouse.

 

       Pastor Carey's heart is for reaching people the church has left behind.  He loves to find ways to utilize technology and current themes in his sermons.  He likes to be active in our community, serving in the public schools and visiting those in need.   When he is not doing ministry, you will find him cheering for the Baltimore Ravens, out doing a mystery shop, or just spending quiet evenings with the family.
